Well, the much awaited Yamaha R25 comes out of the box in Indonesia. With a 250cc parallel twin cylinder DOHC engine having 8 valves, the bike is a pure rev maniac churning out 36PS of power at 12,000 RPM and 22.1Nm of torque at 10,000 RPM. The heart beats with DiASil forged pistons and cylinders having a high compression ratio of 11.6:1.Yamaha unveiled the bike to the mass media in three paint schemes in Indonesia - Racing Blue, Diablo Red and Black Predator.
Mr. Yutaka Terada, a Yamaha official, said that R25 is a sportsbike you can ride everyday. Although it is a high revving machine, it will be easier to ride on daily-basis. It packs up a narrow valve angle and high compression ratio with sophisticated engine architecture for superior performance. Even the seat height is kept low as 780mm to make it easier to ride for the not-too-tall asian riders.
The bike nicknamed as Baby M1 is said to be inspired from M1 and has a predatory stance with those aggressive-looking twin headlamps having an air-duct in the middle, a sporty pilot lamp above them in the middle, tapered tail with LED taillights, multi-layered wrap-around fairings, aluminum alloys and wide tread tires.
Diamond Combination frame and compact engine design, front suspension combined with the inner tube diameter of 41 mm, rear suspension type monocross, asymmetric rear long arm, mid-ship muffler, center of gravity of the bike (weight 166 kg) with perfect 50:50 distribution offering sportier control.
Other features and details comprise of supersport-like speedometer equipped with shift timing indicator, gear position indicator, fuel consumption indicator, oil chage indicator, trip meter, FI diagnostic, engine temperature indicator and timer. The front brakes are of floating-type single disc with dual pistons.
