Hero might soon launch an Impulse 250, right after HX250R.

Back then, it was a joy to the ears of touring and offroading enthusiasts in India when Hero MotoCorp announced about the launch of its 'Transroader', a word Hero used to describe its Onroad/Offroad motorcycle, Impulse. When it was finally launched, the numbers in the sales sheets went pretty well initially. But on a longer run, it was constantly losing the numbers compared to as expected on the sales front. The downfall can, ofcourse, be attributed to the underpowered mill doing its duty under its saddle. However, sensing the problem, Munjal(s) decided to halt its production which was dissappointing for a large number of enthusiasts as it was one of a kind.Though the bike was discontinued with a note stating that they'll bring the great product back with bigger displacement motor.

Coming back to present, Hero is going soon going to launch its to-be flagship product HX250R. And if rumours are to be believed, they are also working on a 250cc Impulse which could do justice to the 'Transroader' tag. The bike is supposed to share the engine with the HX250R. If it turns out to be true, then the bike would have enough power to be a fun element for offroading, and be a great companion for those who love to go secluded and untouched places like Spiti. The engine makes 31bhp and torque of 26Nm, though the engine will most probably be tweaked to deliver the torque in lower rev range to suit the offroading nature of the bike. Though there is no concrete source behind the information, but it would be a great product to have in our market.

What do you think about Impulse 250 if it comes into existence? Would you be one on your to-get-list? Share your thoughts on it in comments section below.
